Aven's First Birthday (the family get-together)

For Aven's first birthday we wanted to celebrate with our whole family but since having everyone drive up to Bellingham isn't always practical we rented a house in Portland for the weekend a few weeks after her actual birthday.  We had some super yummy meals at Porque No? (amazing Mexican food) and Cup & Saucer (great breakfast food) as well as a good old fashioned Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake to boot (although Aven was so exhausted after a long day of playing with her cousin and visiting the animals at the zoo and opening presents that she went to bed without having any).  We hung out as a family watching the kids (Aven and her cousin Asha) play, reading, sleeping and relaxing and the sun finally broke out and we got some reprieve from the rain when we went to the Portland Zoo.  It was a super special weekend too since it was the first mother's day that we were all together: my Mom, Abe's Mom, Abe's sister and me!  Here is a montage of photos from our time together.
